Manufacturing’s March to the Cloud Continues to Grow

Chicago, IL (September 12, 2012) – Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly) sees companies with deep manufacturing needs looking more and more toward cloud-based solutions. “Our clients continue to look for more modern solutions to address their aging technology portfolio,” said Matt Haller, Principal of Baker Tilly’s Cloud ERP Practice. “They tell us they want solutions that are less capital intensive, are part of large application ecosystems and require less effort on their IT organization to maintain and upgrade. Cloud solutions fit that bill nicely.”

In keeping with this rising market interest, Baker Tilly has recently added Rootstock to its portfolio of cloud software partnerships. For those manufacturing companies committed to the Salesforce Force.com architecture, combining Salesforce CRM, FinancialForce and Rootstock manufacturing solutions brings a complete cloud ERP software solution to the marketplace today. “Baker Tilly appreciates Rootstock’s deep manufacturing capability, and it is accretive to our existing salesforce.com and FinancialForce practices,” said Haller.

Rootstock founders Pat Garrehy and Chuck Olinger are veterans of the manufacturing software industry, most notably with their Relevant ERP software solution which played heavily in the engineer-to-order (ETO) space. “Rootstock really knows traditional manufacturing software,” said Dan Beil, Director in Baker Tilly’s Cloud ERP practice. “When we are able to combine our management consulting acumen, Force.com development capability and Rootstock’s manufacturing depth, we can bring exceptional value to our clients”.

Rootstock is no stranger to the cloud ERP space. A Rootstock customer, Oclaro, implemented Rootstock in 2009 and has realized considerable benefits. According to David Duff, Controller of Oclaro, “Rootstock brings a new level of responsiveness to Oclaro and allows us to conduct business across multiple facilities much more efficiently resulting in improved service to our customers. No other cloud vendor could provide the capabilities we needed to grow and manage our costs and business globally. Rootstock clearly gives us that competitive advantage.”

“We are excited to be working with Baker Tilly and look forward to providing clients with deep functional, industry and cloud expertise,” states Pat Garrehy, President and CEO, Rootstock Software. “Their cloud ERP implementation project management skills are second to none and they really understand what is possible when leveraging cloud ERP platforms. The fact that Baker Tilly has well established practices with salesforce.com and FinancialForce brings a well rounded firm able to consult on our complete ERP solution.”

Rootstock Software® is a sponsor of salesforce.com’s Dreamforce 2012, the cloud computing industry event of the year, in San Francisco on September 18-21, 2012. Rootstock will be demonstrating the latest product capabilities at booth #440 in the Cloud expo throughout the event.
